PRINCIPAL

Christoph Kaiser received a Bachelor of Science in Design in 1997 for studies at Arizona State University, University of Stuttgart, and Akademie der Bildenden Kunst, Stuttgart, Germany. In 2002, he graduated with Honors with a Master's Degree in Architecture from Harvard University. In 2005, Christoph Kaiser co-founded Plus Minus Studio, a Phoenix-based architecture office that is still an active agent in many downtown Phoenix architecture projects. In 2010, Christoph Kaiser LLC was founded as a sustainable design studio specializing in compact dwelling units. Christoph founded Kaiserworks in 2016 as a broad-spectrum design studio and creative think-tank that values the strength of collaboration in design.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Mark Lewis holds a Master's Degree in Architecture from Harvard's Graduate School of Design. His professional experience includes work on projects for Arizona State University and Princeton, contemporary desert dwellings, as well as retail and branding projects with IDEO. His primary design interests lie at the intersection of traditional building craft and new, high-tech methods of making. In addition to being a highly skilled digital designer, Mark regularly occupies the woodshop, producing an expanding collection of domestic furniture that inform the studio's approach to its many residential projects in Phoenix's historic downtown neighborhoods.

STUDIO DIRECTOR

Trevor Kowal is a Phoenix native and a graduate of Arizona State University’s School of Architecture. He brings an energetic attitude to the design process with a knack for visual graphics and storytelling. Trevor joined Christoph as an intern and has continued with Kaiserworks through his graduate work and early professional development. Trevor’s experience is varied across multiple specialties such as residential, restaurant, retail, religious, and visual representation.

PROJECT MANAGER

Christina Lufkin received a BSD in Architectural Studies from Arizona State University. Informed by her background in the arts and several unique opportunities abroad, including a stint in France working at The Cook’s Atelier, Christina has an acute eye for aesthetics and a sensitivity to detail that she brings to every project. She has played a pivotal role in the design development of a breadth of Kaiserworks projects, ranging in scale from a minimalist playground, to a multifamily housing project nestled into the backyard of a historic bungalow, to the major renovation of a mid-century modern office building. When not in the office, you can find Christina in her art studio sculpting ceramic objects for her personal practice, Oma Oma.

BRENT ARMSTRONG

AFFILIATE PRINCIPAL

Formerly a faculty associate for seven years with The Design School at Arizona State University, Architect Brent Armstrong has taught courses and design studios for both the architecture and landscape architecture schools. He has also taught NCARB's architectural exam courses at the AIA in Phoenix. Brent has worked as an architect and designer for both residential and commercial projects in Arizona and California and is also the Owner and Principal of Phoenix Based ISOS Architecture, established in 2010. Brent also has unique experience and appreciation for CAD software and interface having worked for Last Software, and with the development team for SketchUp modeling software.
